Manuka Magic
Manuka honey is renowned for its health benefits. Like all the best stuff, it’s made here in NZ. Manuka contains a massive amount of Methylgloxal – a super science-y sounding word for a compound that’s great at fighting bad bacteria. This means it’s both good for your guts and for rubbing on cuts! That science-y word is just one of the many things packed into our Manuka honey that make it so special.
Genuine Manuka
To make sure our Manuka is as Manuka-y as possible, we drop our hives in the middle of Manuka forests when they’re in full bloom. The bees are surrounded by nothing but the little white flower and they really make the most of it, collecting the Manuka nectar like it’s going out of fashion – while ensuring it wont!
For a long time the Manuka tree has been just as passionately used by the people of New Zealand. Its bark, leaves, oil and ash have been used in natural medicine to treat a whole range of ailments. But back to the reason you’re here – the honey.
Every batch of this honey is tested and certified to ensure it’s filled with all the benefits that make it worthy of wielding the name Manuka.
Nutritional Benefits
Unlike processed sugars or even natural sweeteners like Stevia, Manuka honey contains a huge range of vitamins and minerals. It even contains as much as four times the mineral content of other honeys! Everything from B vitamins (not just a bad pun), amino acids, calcium, and zinc are found in Manuka Honey. There are also antioxidants like phenolic acids that protect your body’s cells from damaging free radicals. All these factors contribute to making this product the real superfood it is.

But don’t just take our word for it. Below is a handy guide you can use every time you buy our Manuka honey to make sure you’re getting the best of what nature has to offer.

Unique Manuka Factor (UMF) and Methylglyoxal content (MGO) are both ratings used to indicate the potency and strength of Manuka honey. As UMF is more established and widely used it has become the industry standard. Though UMF and MGO measure different aspects to determine quality, there is a direct correlation between both as indicated by the graph below.
